Shipping & Import FAQs for Our U.S. Customers
Will I have to pay import duties or taxes?
Possibly. Since recent U.S. trade regulation updates, shipments are now sent without DDP (Delivery Duty Paid). This means duties or taxes may be collected upon delivery, and customers are responsible for these charges.
Why are there extra fees sometimes?
In the past, the de minimis exemption allowed packages under $800 USD to enter the U.S. duty-free. That rule has changed, and now duties or taxes may apply depending on the shipment.
How are import taxes calculated?
Import taxes can vary based on the product’s country of origin and its harmonization codes. These details are used by U.S. Customs to determine applicable fees.
What does this mean for me?
Most orders will still move through smoothly, but if import duties or taxes apply, the carrier will collect them upon delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to research and understand the potential costs, as we ship worldwide and cannot possibly keep up to date with every country’s import policies.

Flat Rate Shipping is not available to the PO Box numbers, please contact for a shipping quote (UPS does not offer delivery to PO box addresses at this time so we are forced to use Canada Post who do not offer the same discounts).

SV Equestrian is not responsible for lost packages. Every package sent comes with $100 insurance within Canada. All other countries, insurance can be purchased by using other shipping methods.
